Port Lligat and the Home of Salvador Dali

Not too far from Cadaqués, just north across the peninsula in fact, is the long-time home of Spanish/Catalonian artist, Salvador Dali, in Port Lligat. He loved to this small fishing village, so he bought a simple fisherman’s shack with the intention of living simply and honing his craft, though over the years, he purchased adjoining shacks and build extravagant additions to his home. After the death of his beloved wife, Dali moved into the castle he had bought for her, and to which she would retreat for solitude, in the town of Púbol, near Girona.

Below are some of the more interesting photos of the town and his home.

How totally cool! And now you’re in Seville? One of my favorite places. Enjoy. BTW, we were at Rebecca’s birthday celebration yesterday evening. Nice event, of course.

We’re back in Seville tonight, after spending several days in southern Portugal, then we’re off to Gibraltar, then home!
